Modified Chebyshev Picard Iteration

Modified Chebyshev Picard Iteration differs from the well-known step integrators such as Gauss- Jackson, Runge-Kutta-Nystrom and ODE45 in that it is a path approximation numerical integrator rather than a step-by-step integrator. Long state trajectory arcs are approximated continuously and updated at all time instances on each iteration.

High Performance Computing

The LASR SSA Cluster

LASR is home to a dedicated Space Situational Awareness (SSA) Cluster. The LASR SSAC is a 16 node compute cluster dedicated to astrodynamics research. Each of the compute nodes has a pair of Intel Xeon 2.6GHz CPU and 64GB of RAM. In total the LASR SSA Cluster has 192 cores and a theoretical maximum compute capacity of approximately 2 TeraFlops

Space Situational Awareness

A significant amount of the electrodynamics work at LASR is dedicated to Space Situational Awareness (SSA). SSA is concerned with providing reliable information on the state of objects in the space environment. Specific problems of interest are catalog maintenance, uncorrelated track association, inital orbit determination, conjunction analysis, and orbit uncertainty characterization.
